  Agence France-Presse quoted local sources as saying on the 9th that Ethiopian police carried out a raid on Tigray in a state of emergency, and more than 12 UN employees working locally were arrested, some of whom were taken away from their homes.

  The report also quoted a UN spokesman in Geneva as saying that the UN has requested the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry to release these staff members.
