The 70-year-old writer said that he had finished the script with Zhang Zhiliang, but the film said that he did not know this person.
On 25th, Li Shuxing, a Hunan screenwriter who thought that Zhang Zhiliang had plagiarized his play Mo Attack, came to Beijing. He said that he finished the script of "Ink Attack" for Zhang Zhiliang in 1999 and 2000, but after the film "Ink Attack" was completed, the screenwriter signed only Zhang Zhiliang. Li Shuxing also revealed that he had received threatening phone calls from Hong Kong before coming to Beijing. In this regard, Huayi Brothers, a mainland film producer, said that he was completely unaware of this person, and the script of "Ink Attack" was obtained through legal channels.
Li Shuxing: I was threatened after paying me.
Li Shuxing, who is nearly 70 years old, is quite angry when facing the media. He said that in August 1998, he was invited by Zhang Zhiliang to help modify Zhang Zhiliang’s script about Mozi, but because Zhang’s script was "too deformed", he started over and finished the creation of the movie script "The Battle of Mozi" in April 1999. In order to prove his words, Li Shuxing took out the script collection of The Battle of Mozi published by himself in China Film Publishing House in 2000. Li Shuxing said: "I explicitly told Zhang Zhiliang that the script you gave me could not be changed at all. This is a script that I re-created based on comics and related materials. In the end, he paid me 18 thousand yuan. Moreover, in his two movie scripts in May and July 1999, the words’ screenwriter Li Shuxing’ were clearly printed. But not long ago, I found that the words’ Director and Screenwriter: Zhang Zhiliang’ were printed on the cast list of this film, which made me very angry. " In addition to presenting his screenplay collection published in 2000, Li Shuxing also asked his good friend Wei Minglun to testify for himself through telephone recording. He also revealed: "Before I came to Beijing for this conference, I received a phone call from Hong Kong, saying that I should be careful."
Huayi Brothers: The script is legally obtained.
The reporter then contacted Li Xu, the vice president of Huayi Brothers, the mainland investor of the film. She said that the script of Ink Attack was obtained through legal channels. "Ink Attack was invested by the mainland, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan, and the copyright of the script belongs to the company of director Zhang Zhiliang. When we intervened, it was already in the script completion stage. As for whether there was this dispute in the development stage, we didn’t know about it, and we had never heard of this person. Just like "The Banquet", in fact, the earliest screenwriter was Kong-Kin Yau. Although Sheng Heyu made subversive changes to the script in the end, we still regard Kong-Kin Yau as one of the screenwriters. For Huayi Brothers, we have absolutely no need to do this. "
